Hello,
I hoped you would be able to track down a 1921 census record for 10-year-old William Frederick PITFIELD please. It's
just the 1921 census record I want.
WHAT I KNOW:
William Frederick PITFIELD, born 7 OCT 1910 • South Stoneham, Hampshire (this ward was next to Southampton, Hampshire).
His father was dead. His mother, Haidee (sometimes spelled Hardee) remarried to Edward WELLS, Able Seaman, Merchant Service. The couple are on the 1921 census with their baby daughter, Nellie WELLS b 1920. But Wm Frederick PITFIELD is not with them.
Wm did likely go to sea as a career, eg Berengaria into New York in 1929, when it's mentioned he's been with them for 1.5 years, but he was only 11 on the 1921 census.
He did have a sister, also Haidee, but she died 1913.
WHERE I HAVE LOOKED: both Ancestry and FindMyPast
William Frederick PITFIELD or WELLS and fuzzy spellings of surname, b. Hampshire.
Maternal Grandparents (Frederick Diaper & wife): found their 1921 census but Wm Fred. is not there.
Any sightings of this boy specifically on the 1921 census would be most welcome.
