Logan of Benburb
« on: Wednesday 26 February 25 16:48 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to find the birth record of my great grandmother Sarah Jane Logan.
Possible birth date is1862 and place may be Benburb . I have found her sister Ellen and 2 brothers but can not find her birth. Parents were John Logan and Mary Miller/Millar , married 1856 in Clonfeacle.
Thank you.

Thanks yet again SS. I’ve been searching the Irish ancestry sites this afternoon and couldn’t find it.

Civil registration of births didn't start until 1864 so there will be no birth certificate. You'll need to see if baptism record exists. Have you checked for one at the church where parents were married or near where the family lived?

Thank you, I hadn’t thought of that, I’ll see what I can find. If I have the right parents, they were married at the Presbyterian church of Clonfeacle .

John Logan and Mary Millar married at Armagh 1st Presbyterian Church in 1856-

Luckily their records are excellent- Baptisms, 1707-28, 1796-1803 and 1825-1949- and available on microfilm at PRONI, Belfast.

Thank you so much. I’ve just searched GRONI without success.
