Thanks to both of you. Alan, no, I am Scottish but have been living in England for yrs, but, yes, my maternal grandparents were from Partick, like several generations before them. I can't recall ever having seen a flesher. Less likely to do so now, of course, with fewer butcher shops around. Will look out for them when visiting family in Fort William
