Looking for information on Nathanial Ryan 1788-1835 according to family lore he was a steward on Whitegate Estates. His daughter Catherine Ryan 1821-1906 was my 2x great grandmother. I have pictures of a family bible that was given to Nathanial Ryan WhiteGates 1822 Whitegate Clonrush .Her uncle Frances Ryan was an early settler in Ontario Canada. Catherine came to Canada after her aunt Ann Navin died. She taught her to be a seamstress. Her mother Mary Ryan died in child birth or shortly after. There is some confusion within the family as to who Nathanial's father was, some say it was Philip Ryan who died in 1808 and was a steward on Whitegate, some say it was Thomas Ryan. I wonder if his name was Thomas Philip Ryan, a Philip Ryan married an Abigail Fletcher 1810 Eire Ireland. It is interesting that Philip Ryan's father's name is Nathanial and that would fit with the naming convention. Memorial Registry Deed 215551. And I don't see any Thomas names in the family. Catherine's uncle Frances was an very early settler in Ontario 1825 forward. Catherine Ryan also had a sister Abigail who came to Canada with her brother Caleb.These I saw some post from a Murry F who had information and would love to communicate. Kind regards Sue
