Mincing Lane Amateur Dramatic (& Orchestra) Society, London
« on: Monday 17 March 25 00:05 GMT (UK) »
A long shot but here goes.
I am interested in the above as my great uncle was a violin player in the orchestra in the 1920's.
I did find a couple of newspaper articles in findmypast but wondered if there were any other sources I could look at.
A quote from one of the articles is that the people involved were working in the Rubber Exchange and the London Commercial Sale Rooms.

If you google, there is a programme from 1930 of the Mincing Lane Dramatic Club for sale on ebay. (it lists the orchestra members)

I can see newspaper articles, probably the same as you have already. One from the Daily Telegraph (Tuesday,  Feb. 10, 1925) says the members were all from the London tea and rubber markets, and that this was the fourth annual production, so began in 1922.

Another article from the Daily Telegraph mentions the orchestra, under the direction of Mr F. D. GOOCH.

Thank you for that. I am not into ebay, so will have to let that one go.
Yes, they were the reports that I found but I shall keep looking. You never know, something might turn up.
