WILLIAM MURISON NEISH died on 14 April 1921 after serving with the King's Own Scottish Borderers. Aged 38, he was the son of William Neish, chemist (deceased) and Mary Duncan, (formerly Neish).
William died in Dunbar where his death was registered by his step-brother James Duncan. However, I have discovered that on 27 April 1904 William had married Mary Connolly at St Mary's RC Church in Kelso. Mary Connolly Neish died - it is believed in 1916 - and her death was registered in Kelso. It seems likely that she was buried there.
William is entitled to War Grave status if proof of burial can be found. Is he buried in Dunbar where he died - or is he back in Kelso?
I would be very grateful for any information which would help to get this Forgotten Soldier the commemoration he deserves.
