Struggling to find a Swinger death. Would appreciate some help please.
« on: Saturday 19 April 25 21:42 BST (UK) »
Bank Holiday weekend and revisiting some of my old notes. I am struggling to find a death for Thomas Swinger born circa 1859 Great Cressingham.

I have a marriage to Martha in 1877 and census details for 1881,1891,1901 and 1911 for Thomas Swinger.

Although I dont have subscription to any family history websites ( I usually use FindMyPast at the local library ) I have just found Thomas Swinger on the 1921 Census by hovering my mouse button over the 1921 Census record which has revealed basic information suggesting he is still with Martha and living with someone called Royston Baldwin. Also listed is Albert George Swinger aged 11 years and 6 months.

I can find no reference to Thomas Swinger on the 1939 Register but I did find his wife Martha who is listed as a Widow living with the Fairweather family at Holbeach Bank. Sadly it appears Martha passed away in December 1939.

I have carried out a FreeBMD search for Thomas Swinger deaths between 1921 and 1939 using all counties. This returned just one result, a Thomas Swinger aged 38 who appears to have been a Policeman from the same area.

Just wondering if anyone has access to records or information that would help me find Thomas Swingers death details.

Many thanks in anticipation ( sorry for the essay, just trying to pass on as much information as I can to avoid duplication ).

Steve  ;)

And the birth of Anthony Swinger was registered June Quarter 1859, Swaffham.

The only birth for a Thomas Swinger in Norfolk during that period was March Q 1858 Swaffham and died in June Q 1858.  They both have the mmn Cozens.

Many thanks Ladyhawk for your reply and the links you provide, you have been busy  ;)

I did a cursory check of my records before posting......he is listed as Thomas on the 1901 Census living at Seeche with Martha and their six children.

Sorry to have misled anyone researching on my behalf  :-[

You`ve given me some extra details to work with  ;D

Many thanks Steve
