A tree on A***y,—possibly belonging to the OP—has his father as William Campbell Williams, 1799-, but there isn’t any supporting evidence that I can see.
I have loads of evidence that Campbell Williams was his father. It's just the death I'm looking for as I can't find anything that fits..

Thank you everyone. I've ordered an image of the death record for the John Williams who was 53 and died in Yarmouth. It's only £3 to order from the GRO and I think it's worth it.

yes, thank you. I have copies of the marriage certifiactes and a copy of the newspaper announcement. He got the girl pregnant when she was only 18 and he was much older. It's the death record I'm looking for.

Thank you everyone for your help. I have copies of the marriage certificates, crew list records, census information, family information and other bits.  I don't think I'll ever find the birth record, but I may be luckier with the death record as he died in England between 1901 and 1911 I think.

I've just looked and it's not the right person. It was an outside chance as the age was wrong by several years. It's always worth checking though.
