Registry of Deeds on Family Search
« on: Wednesday 18 June 25 23:17 BST (UK) »
Not sure if this has been posted before…

Familysearch have recently released a new search tool which makes searching  the Registry of Deeds database a lot easier!  I have been there in person and also spent hours and hours going through the grantees, grantors  etc., over the years but this still misses out vital deeds. Previously I had noted over 300 for my Creed line… but with the new search tool I have over 2500! yes some are duplicates where names are mentioned more than once on a memorial but within 5 minutes ai had found 3 I hadn’t found before… a marriage settlement and another confirming who was an eldest son…. they have also provided a transcription, some errors but not bad.  Tip… double check the dates on the transcriptions though

happy hunting!
