This is potentially George and Mary Griffiths of Pontypridd.  George was born in 1842 as was Mary.  Do the cloths look right for the 1870s-80s?

Thank you.  That ties in nicely.  This is them in their old age and is attributed to them by my great grandmother..

Nice to see a photo from that time in which the people are smiling, especially the woman. They look like very pleasant people to me.  Studio photos then were usually very solemn pictures, as in the first one you showed.
