Leicestershire Regt 1945 - RASC
« on: Wednesday 21 September 05 00:02 BST (UK) »
Hi folks,
I have T/4867681 DVR Daniel Joseph Richards b 1923 Leeds
I know he was initially Leicestershire Regt then RASC involved in the Normandy landings.  He was wounded, spent six months in hospital, six months recuperating, then went to Germany.

Thats all I have at the moment.  Any help will be gratefully received.
Thanks
Cotdeps

Thanks, but I'm not directly related.
Did some digging yesterday and I believe he is 1st Battalion Leicestershire Regt. (2nd were Far East) The RASC involvement in D-day was 49th West Riding Div, 49th Divisional Column ?? " Gold " beach Not 100% sure yet.
Appreciate your help. I'll take any hints to point me in the right direction.
