William & Loiusa Stevens Unsloved, where did they disappear to?
« on: Wednesday 21 September 05 07:34 BST (UK) »
Searching for the following couple and/or their children on the 1881 census/1891/1901 census. I'd greatly appreciate your help

William Stevens & Louisa Stevens (Nee Talbot) who married 1874 in Wolverhampton.

Children were:
Edward
Harry
Burt
Ernest
William

I think this may be the correct oreder of birth....but could be wrong. I had origianlly been told that William and Louisa married in 1847 but have checked this out and found the marriage in 1874 in Wolverhampton to be the correct year

Thanks for looking,

Michelle

No years of birth sorry, was hoping to pick the family up on the 1891 census where  I am sure they would appear as a complete family by then. I am told there first child was born very quicky after their marriage!! So I'm guessing at least one or two of them would appear on the 1881 census

Thanks

With Stevens being a very common name is may prove to be difficult to find.

Wolverhampton district covers ALOT of ground.

I've checked the 1881 but can't find any family in Staffordshire with wife, husband and child names you mentioned.

Maybe someelse will have more luck ???

Yes, everyone seems to be drawing a complete blank on this one, I've been looking for ages.

Perhaps there may be a clue in the fact that Williams Father lived in Stourbridge and his Grandfather lived in Cradley Heath. I can find their marriage no problem....Where 'did' they disappear to!! ??? :-\ AGH!!

What was William's father's name?

I think the best thing to do would be to apply for the marriage certificate :)

Then you'll not just have where they lived but you'll also have their ages and father's names.

This looks like them in 1891. Sorry, some parts were difficult to read, but I can forward the image if you would like?
I was simply going on the fact that the only Louisa Talbot in Staffs 1871 was born Stourbridge, and searched on that!
