BRYDONE - Carlisle
« on: Wednesday 21 September 05 19:30 BST (UK) »
Has anyone researched the Brydone family living in Carlisle c1829.  My gg grandfather (William) was born in Carlisle in 1829 and then joined the Royal Artillery and moved to Woolwich.  William's father was John (a railway guard or mail coach driver).  Any information would be gratefully received.

Hi Liz, My GGGrandmother Ruth Briden was born Carlisle 1816, her father was William Bryden occupation Grocer. A witness at the ceremony in Liverpool in 1841 was her sister Mary Brydon. I don't know if they were related to yours, I have tried various message boards to try to find any information, without success. Jim

Jill

Thanks for your note.  It may be that your William and my John were related.  I really need to get access to the Carlisle parish registers.  Please let me know if you find any further info, and I will do the same.
