Hi,

Found this photo amongst my nana's pictures but has no information to suggest who it might be, hoping someone can identify the uniform to give me some idea of which war he served in.

Is the photo good enough to gtet any definition on the cap badge?

nari this is one for my buddys on the great war forum,i have never seen a uniform like that,and i havent a clue about the badge,the pockets are the type seen on a officers uniform,but the uniform isnt a officers,my only guess is hes a university officer cadet ???? mack
military history,mainly ww1,manchester pals battalions,tyneside irish +tyneside scottish brigades,leeds,liverpool,accrington,birmingham,hull,barnsley,swansea and salford pals.

Thanks for your help guys, unfortunately the photo is no clearer than the scan and I'm unable to see the badge any better, I was originally thinking it was a relative who died during the first world war either in France or Belgium and served in the 42nd - Australian Infantry, A.I.F, thought if I could find out something about his uniform it may narrow it down a little, I appreciate your time.

Hi Annie,

I've had a look and the coat do's look very similiar, can't tell if the hat is the same though, tried to get back into the site to see what else I could find but having some trouble with it at the moment so will try again later, seem to be hitting a few of those brick walls I keep hearing about but I'm sure they will start to fall apart eventually, thankyou for taking the time to help.
