Interesting Occupation listed - 1871
« on: Sunday 25 September 05 18:21 BST (UK) »
I found this occupation listed while checking for other ancestors.  What I found interesting was not the job, but the way it was listed.  It is for a 31 year old man in Arlecdon in the 1871 UK census.  His birthplace is listed looks like Carnarvon; Bangor.

Under occupation it says, "Member Royal College of Surgeons, England; Liceniate of Apothecaries, Hull, London; Practicing Surgeon"

Like anyone, I'm not sure I'd want a surgeon who is only practicing.  RedFox

 :D :D :D

I'll take a practicing surgeon over a non-practicing surgeon any day!
At least I'd trust that his skills were getting better
