Finding William Love.

Hi All,

I am trying to find my ancestors on my mother's side. My great grandfather William Stewart Love whom I believe was born in Australia, around 1856. I have found a William Love, aged 32 and His wife Eliza, aged 34 and their 2 children, John Love aged 14 and William Love  aged 4, arrived on board the "James Pattison" from Bandon, Cork, Ireland in 1838.

This could be the connection to William Stewart Love's family, but without more information I am not sure. Can someone please help me?

Hi,

If you think they were from Bandon, for so early you are left with either the Tithe Applotments or Bandon baptismal records. Of course, that won't necessarily link them with your g grandfather. You can only do that in Australian records. It's not a common name. There were 19 LOVE households int he Griffith VAluatino (taken 1851-3) in Cork, in Kilmoe, Liscleary, Mourneabbey, Carrigleamleary, St Annes shandon and St Paul and St Peter(all in the city) and Templeomalus, none near Bandon.

Hello kaola,

I've looked at occupants of houses in Bandon in 1837. There's no one named
William Love listed but there are a couple of guys named William Lovell.
