Hi
Three strands of my Squires were all living together in Limbury in the 1861 census. Could some kind person please look up the 1851 census for them please ?
( From 1861 census ) for Limbury, Luton
House No2:
John Squires, abt 1829, Wheelwright
Mary Ann Squires, abt 1836, ( wife )
House No3 :
Abraham Squires, abt 1791, Blacksmith
House No4:
Elizabeth Squires, abt 1811, ( head )
David Squires, abt 1841, Ag Lab
Joseph Squires, abt 1843
Charles Squires, abt 1845
Abraham Squires, abt 1842
I have put the House number in , as they live at one end of the village. The 1871 census has them at the end of the census, so I can only presume the collectors started at the other end of the village that year, and arbitrarily assigned numbers to the houses as they progressed.
Also of note, is that there may be some other Squires’ present ( as they reappear in the 1871 cenus in the middle house ( presumably Abraham had passed away by then )
William Squires, abt 1825 , Blacksmith
Sarah ( wife ) , abt 1824, born Liverpool
William ( son ) , abt 1851
Regards
Paul
