I am wanting to find the family of William Lovell ZELLEY in the 1851/1871 census in Dorset, (probably Fleet or Weymouth) In the 1861 they are:

For the March 1/4 of 1871 there is a death Reg at Weymouth, for a Margaret Zelley.

Hi Tricia
Thanks very much for that info, where on earth did you find that?? I am gradually getting these Zelleys sorted out but they unfortunately keep changing the spelling, e.g. Sealley, Sealey, Zealley etc. As they were all mariners they pop up anywhere! Thanks for your assistance, if you spot anymore around Fleet, Preston, Weymouth love to here from you.

I did see a William Zelley born Weymouth on the 1871 census but his birth date was 1856 not 1845.

He was a sailmaker and a Boarder - not with parents

Hi! That William sound like one of ours! There were a number of Williams and some around that era, (one went to Canada and was drowned at sea). There were certainly a number of 'Sailmakers' could you post that one too, be teriffic!!
While I was typing to you your second one 'crossed in the mail' Yes we have a number of Zelley's in the Coast guard, William Lovell Zelley was at Preston in "H M Coastguard"
