in England 1900 had 2 children and came to Canada never to be heard from again,

he lived at Brookfold Lane, Harwood, Bolton, working in a textiles bleachworks, August 30, 1907 the Scowcroft diary records that " Fletcher sent a cablegram that he with Sam and Ash Wild had arrived yesterday (Aug 29) @ 10:30, on sept 09,received letter from sam at quebec" (Scowcroft was a neighbour of the Fletcher's and family friend)

came across likely from Liverpool, maybe went to Moosejaw, Saskatchewan,

if anyone knows what happened to him, please let me know, thank you
Jennifer

Jennifer,

I don't know what happened to him, but perhaps these addresses might help:

Moose Jaw Cemetery:
http://www.citymoosejaw.com/departments/parks/cemeteries/index.shtml

Moose Jaw Public Library:
http://www.citymoosejaw.com/departments/libart/index.shtml

Moose Jaw GenWeb:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~skmoosej/MooseJaw/

The Moose Jaw Times Herald:
http://www.mjtimes.sk.ca/

(Canadian Government) Western Land Grants:
http://www.collectionscanada.ca/02/02011102_e.html
(Go to "Online Help" for information on what the Meridians are, etc.  For example, one of the Harry Fletcher results is for "W1" which is Manitoba and Saskatchewan.  I think you'd have to write away for copies, since the website doesn't even list the dates.)

Hopefully, if all else fails, you might be able to find him in the 1911 census once it has been transcribed:
http://www.automatedgenealogy.com/index.html

In the meantime, you could always go through the images, page by page (it's free):
http://www.collectionscanada.ca/archivianet/1911/006003-100.01-e.html
(select Saskatchewan and search on "Moosejaw" to get the appropriate pages)

Good luck!

Hi!    They have almost transcribed half of MooseJaw already....but  I already
checked and no luck!   Keep an eye out for when they have finished transcribing.
Where did you get the information about Moose jaw?

I thought that you had meant Harrry came over with his wife and children....
poor little munchkins without a papa....

hi, J.J., no sure about the Moosejaw bit, i must have gotten it from the family, maybe i should not have said it this way because if someone knows of him, they may not want to tell me about him, oh, well, too late!

Aww, I wouldn't worry. this was generations ago...If anyone knows anything about his history, I am sure they would come forward. Good luck with your hunt..

I especially like the comments on the page about Fletcher...makes me think
it could be your man....

Fletcher, whom MacKinnon remembers as having an English accent and being "mildly uncouth," also sold confections, tobacco, and some basic groceries.
