General lookup pls - Aston Tirrold - GEARING

I am looking for information on three generations of the Gearing family.

Thomas and Martha had 5 children in Aston Tirrold between 1800 and 1811 but I have no details of their marriage or dates and places of birth.

Their son, also Thomas, was born in 1806. I haven't been able to find him on a census prior to 1861 when he was married to Jane born around 1821 from Liverpool. They had 5 children all born in Southwark, London where they were living. Only one child, Martha Ann would have been born prior to the 1851 census. The marriage would have been late 1840's but I don't know where and can't find it in BMD.

Also unable to find Martha's birth on BMD around 1849.

Any help gratefully accepted.

I checked Aston Tirrold in the 1841 & 1851 census's - the only Geering still there is Thomas's brother William (born 1808) and his family

Checked the register transcriptions - only 2 of the children were baptised in the church there Martha in 1800 and James in 1806 - as you probably know from the IGI - all the rest were non-conformist baptisms.

The only 2 Geering Marriages in the registers weere the above mentioned William & Elizabeth and a Mary (possibly another sister?) in 1825 to Issac Seymour of Childry.

A bit more luck with the burials though
Thomas (senior) was buried 24th March 1825 aged 62

1811 James s/o Thomas & Martha was buried

and the big clue
1806 John son of Thomas & Martha was buried

I can not see any baptism for a John in Aston Tirrold - however there is a baptism in Marcham in 1798 of a John son of Thomas & Martha and before that a marriage 8th November 1792 in Marcham of Thomas Gearing to Martha Pryer - I think it very likly that this is your Thomas & Martha.

Thomas was baptised in March 24th August 1766 son of Joseph & Mary Gearing

I had found the 5 children on the IGI and noticed that they switched from conformist and non conformist baptisms and back again. I wonder why.

The other details you have found will enable me to follow up a new line of research. Thanks once again.
