Rog,
Scotland has a much more limited system for offering look up services as it does cost money to go to the GROS. And the ethos of Rootschat is that it is free.
I think the best advice I can give is that you could post in the
for sale section to say you can offer this service and only charge expenses i.e. you are not trying to make a profit.
The secondary reason why I suggest this is that the majority of requests can be covered by Scotlandspeople. Therefore the requests you would get are for more recent information. Rootschat tries to minimise the publication of recent records for the sake of security and privacy. I would therefore encourage requests to come direct to you as it would be in your interest to be sure that you are providing this service to honest people.
I have occasionally looked up information at the GROS for people I know but would be reluctant to make an offer publicly as I would not know what the information is to be used for (if it were recent). And unlike England you get a lot more information.
Hope this seems reasonable,
Pam
