Bristol Boarding Schools - 1901
« on: Wednesday 18 August 04 18:38 BST (UK) »
I have a Bristol 1901 census extract for RG 13/2372. It would appear to be a boarding school for boys, one of my hubby's ancestors, Joseph Banks Derrick is listed as a scholar there.

Could anyone tell me what school this may have been? I have searched through both pages of the census entry, and there is no mention of the school name, or what parish RG 13/2372 might be.

The Headmaster is listed as William Robert Lush, age 23, single, born Bristol.

TIA,
Debbie

Hi Sue,

Thank you so much for the info - now that I know the school was in St. Augustine I will hopefully be able to expand the search and find out exactly which school it was.
Thanks again!

Update!

I have been advised by a researcher on another board that this particular school is the Queen Elizabeth's Hospital School, it is located at Berkely Place, Clifton.
Isn't it nice to solve a little mystery.   :D :D
