thomas herbert born 1852 wales wife abigail a herbert also born 1852 wales left wales for usa in 1880 found with help on the 1900 montana park county aldridge federal census I would like to know where they were both born or county they came from in wales before settling in the u.s.a.

Do you know if he became a naturalized citizen of the United States? If so, you can obtain a copy of his Naturalization papers and it should indicate where in Wales he came from. Those papers can be found in the Countny Court house where Thomas Herbert lived.

According to the 1920 US census, Thomas and Abigail arrived in the US in 1879, and are both naturalized citizens.

In 1910 and 1920, they were living in Fergus county.

Gen web says that Fergus County was formed in 1885/6. If searching prior to that date, look at Meagher and Chouteau county records.
