Susannah PATMORE from Cheshunt

Hi all,

looking for Susannah Patmore from Cheshunt. She married John Windley (Winly/Wenly/Winley) in Blackmore in 1784. So I'm guessing that she was born between 1756 and 1766. No further information. Would like to know when she was born, names of her parents and did she have brothers/sisters.
I know it's a longshot but who knows....

I have had a look between the dates that you supplied at the only Susannah Patmore i can find is:

Susanna Patmore
Christened 26 August 1759 Gilstone, Hertford
Parents: John Patmore, Sarah

There are quite a few Susanna(h) Patmores in Hertford during the 1700's, most are in Much Hadham and Sawbridgeworth, none in Cheshunt.
It might pay you to have a look at www.familysearch.org if you haven't already done so, after you have searched and gone into the "International Genealogical Index/British Isles" section you can then refine your search by choosing the relevant county.

Hi Amy,

just looked at Familysearch, you're right many Susannah Patmores. Have no idea which one it is.
I have a very bad copy of the marriage cert. and place of birth looks to me like Cheshunt or Chishunt. Don't know if any of the other places like Much hadham or Sawbridgeworth are close to Cheshunt/Chishunt. Does Cheshunt/Chishunt excist at all?

Yes Cheshunt is indeed a place in Hertfordshire, i don't think it is too far from Ware and Sawbridgeworth

Hi,

I searched the Cheshunt PRs at HALS for the period you suggested but without success.

Cheshunt is in the southeast corner of the county in the Lea Valley.  It is about 2 miles from the border of the London Borough of Enfield (formerly Middlesex) and 2 miles from Waltham Abbey, Essex.    Ware is appro 7 miles and Sawbridgeworth 12 miles from Cheshunt.
