BUCHAN - Parishes of Abdie, Cameron, Kennoway, Portmoak, etc., trying to build a picture of Buchans in Fife as a community, approx 1700 -1900. Presently stuck on William, siblings unknown.

William now found via death registered in 1902 in Ninewells, Invergowrie, Dundee. 10/12/2005.

Do you have the parents of WILLIAM BUCHAN, in your tree, living in the parish of Kennoway (Kennoway, Baintown, Bonnybank or Star) born circa 1820?

Seeking the parents of WILLIAM BUCHAN dob, c1820 (possibly 27/05/1820), born in Kennoway, Fife, UK. He was a farm labourer, farmer and then in old age a gardener, living in Cameron, St Andrews, Carnbee and died a widower in Pittenweem, c1899. He married Euphemia (Effie) McEwen, 04/06/1842 at Abdie, Fife and then had six children, David b1845, William b1849, Alexander b1854, Isabella b1856, Henry b1858 and Robert b1861. If any members of Fife or Tayside Family History Societies read this, it is my intention to make contact on my next visit to Scotland. The reason being that I am stuck at this point on my father's side. WILLIAM was my great-grandfather. Unfortunately the extract of the OPR marriage register does not record the parents. If anyone has a suggestion of a suitable course of action I would appreciate their input.
