Hi Maureen,
I have just returned from a trip to England. I joined the Linenhall Library as a member. I am now in the Central Library in Royal Avenue. The computers in the Belfast, Ulster and Irish Studies of the Library are busy so I am using a computer in the Music section of the Library. I spotted your question while looking for one about Beckett Street.
Pilot Street is still standing, Maureen. It runs from Garmoyle Street to Donegall Quay. I have a Belfast and Northern Ireland Directory 1996 in front of me. There are very few buildings listed in the street in this Directory but The Dock Workers, Sports Recreation, Social Club is at no 57. Clow & Co. (Ireland) Ltd is at 22, and St Joseph's Roman Catholic Presbytery is at 38.
Best Wishes in your research, Christopher
