Hello,

The 1861 census does not  survive. PErhaps you could try Wood families in the Griffith Valuation 1851-53 or the Dublin City householders census 1851 or the Dublin directories. If her father was an engineer, was he Anglican?

Thanks a lot Kate, I am not sure sure if her father was anglican but Annie married in anglican church in England.
Are the resourses you mention available online?
Thanks, Ju

Hi Ju,

Some are, most aren't.

There's a griffith Valuation index and an 1850 Dublin directory that spring to mind.

Hi Ju,

There were many families by the name of Wood in Ireland at the time of Griffiths Valuation 1848-64 http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths.php

Andrew is not mentioned in the Directory of Dublin City in 1850 but may well have lived in Dublin County or elsewhere in Ireland. http://www.loughman.dna.ie/dublin1850/xdubdir90.html#Wood

It looks as though you may have a lengthy search. Have a look through these sites and post again for further assistance. People on the Irish boards are always willing to help.

I wish you luck, Chris
