How old would your Edward be? There is one 24 in Grantham and one 35 married to a Mary with a 1 yr old son called Edward in Sutton St Mary. No other Edward Adams in Lincs.

Hi Jan,

Thanks for your interest, my Edward would be about 14, born about 1827 in Keddington so neither of the ones you have would be right.

I'm beginning to think that he doesn't exist. Although I have him on census returns in Yorkshire from 1861 I cannot find his marriage or death certs.

I'm not sure what you you have as a resource but just as a wild card are there any Henry Adams of the same age?
I ask as on the birth cert of a child who I am supposing is Edward's eldest the father's name is given as Henry Adams which is either an error or ??????

best wishes   Sue

Hi Jan,

Thanks for the info I'm going to store it until I feel brave enough to tackle this line again as I feel as though I'm up against the "brickwall".

I'm hoping to get to Lincs and take a look at some parish registeres in the near future which may help.

Thanks again   Sue
