census 1841 and 1851 lookup please

Hi,

I'm looking for Letitia Waters, born 1828 in Haddenham.
Found her in Middlesex census 1861 (unmarried). Nothing before that.
She may have had a sister Ann.

That's all I know. Not much to go on, but any help is grately appreciated!

Thanks for finding her in 1841. Guess her mother is Ruth.
Do you have acces to the parish registers? Would like to know who Ruth's father was. Who Ruth's husband was and ofcourse if she had a daughter called Ann.

Cambs FHS has an excellent website at http://www.cfhs.org.uk/Search.html with indexes for 1841 and 1851, and baptism/burial indexes 1801-37.

The baptism index has Letitia being baptised in the Ely Wesleyan Circuit in 1828 aged 8mths, daughter of Charles and Ruth Waters, abode Haddenham, which is probably the Letitia in the 1841 census. But she is 10 years younger than the Letitia you asked for, born 1818.

If you find anyone in the census index where you need full details of the census entry just post the reference and parish and someone will check it out for you.

Letitia is in the 1851 index living in Cambridge (29 Trinity St, Cambridge All Saints). She was shown as niece unmarried age 25 born Haddenham in the household of Richard Hutt 52 b Cambridge and his wife Harriett Hutt 40 b Haddenham and a whole row of little huts, sorry Hutts, ranging between 24 and 1. I wonder if Harriett might have been a second wife.

Thank you for finding her in 1851. Great!
She lived in Middlesex 1861, servant to George Gosden (widower) from jevington.
By 1871 she had married her boss and was known as Letitia Gosden.
I'm trying to find out who George's first wife was and when she died.
I had hoped that Letitia had a sister Ann, because this name came up as the possible first wife of George. No Ann in the Index, daughter of Charles and Ruth.

If Harriet is Letitia's niece (or aunt), how can I find out what Harriet's surname was? Can't be Waters, no Harriet Waters in index, born about 1811 Haddenham.

More and more questions, but more and more fun playing detective!

How is the age difference of all the little Hutts? Is there a gap of a few years somewhere? Maybe the were married around that time.
