1861 Census Lookup, Please
« on: Sunday 23 October 05 21:19 BST (UK) »
Hello everyone,

I'm wondering if someone could help me find my great great grandmother in 1861. Some very kind people have located her parents for me tonight in Lincolnshire, and I'm wondering if she was in the same place. I have put her details as below:

Ellen Hennessy/b. c. 1844 in London/Bermondsey/Middlesex

She is not listed as living with her parents in 1861, so I assume that she was in some description of domestic service.

If anyone could help me on this, I would be most grateful.

Thanks for reading.

Best wishes,
Sgt Tollers

Hello Martin,

I think that it's probably the Louth one.

Thank you very much for finding that for me! I am very much grateful for your help :).

& ?? master of Leeds ?? School,

The first missing word is "Afsist" - short for "Assistant".  I would say the second word was "Grammar" - it is made unclear by the loops of letters from the line above.  Roundhay is in Leeds.
