1841 and 1851 census lookup request - Hull BRITTAIN COMPLETED THANKS!
« on: Monday 24 October 05 02:31 BST (UK) »
Hi everybody,

Would someone please have a hunt for the following family in the 1841 and 1851 census. am trying to work out a correct birthdate for one of the siblings (Dawson) as i can't find a record of his birth anywhere online.

Joseph Marshall brittain born 1803 Blacktoft, Yorkshire (father)
Hannah b. 1801 Howden yorkshire (mother)
Samuel Brittain b. 1838 Hull holly tinity
Dean Brittiain born 1840 Hull holly tinity
Dawson? Brittain born 1848?

the 1861 census gives them at 3 Reform st Sculcoates and the fathers occupation then was bricklayer.

would really appreciate all the details about this family in the 1841 and 1851 census.

regards
Constance

Hi Constance

Your family are not on the 1851 for Sculcoates, sorry I don't have the index for the other parts of Hull.

Just out of nosiness I did a parent search on the IGI and there appears to be some other children of Joseph & Hannah that you haven't mentioned but no sign of Dawson.

happy hunting

thats ok,. i have had a quick look on a microfishe for this family (only had about an hours access) and i couldn't find them. i was hoping it was me being a technophobe or something. oh well. thatns for trying. maybe they will turn up in 1841.

Thanks,

Hi Constance,

I was just reading your request out of general interest and noticed that your ancestors were living at 3 Reform St in 1861.

My husband's Gt gt grandparents and family were at 2 Reform St at the same time so would have been neighbours.

This info is completely useless to you but just seemed interesting nonetheless.

Happy searching      Sue

Sue & Constance,

several of my ancestors appear to have married their next door neighbours, so you never know :D
