All Saints Church, Lewes, Sussex – March 1822

A Schedule of Allotments and Sales of Pews, Seats, & Sittings

 

This is a list found in the Church of All Saints, Lewes when it was being used as Arts and Social Centre in the 1990's.

It lists all the Pews in the Church both on the Ground Floor and the Gallery, who owns them, who rents them, and who should be sitting in them.

Most of the names on this list are also to be found on the stones / memorials in the Churchyard.

 

According to the 1851 Religious Census - Sale of Pews under the Act of Parliament raised £490.14.0d
