Employers' names are not recorded in the 1911 census. Only occupations.

The given names Donald and Daniel can be used interchangeably, so I wouldn't worry about a Donald suddenly turning up as Daniel, or vice versa.

There is, or was, apparently, an Elpherston Street in Kincardine-on-Forth, but looking at the map I can see only and Elphinstone Street.

I thought that column in 1921 was supposed to be the employer's name, but then if he was out of work, would he have had an employer?

Quite probably, but it just struck me as amusing that it is worded that way, as if old age had come upon him as suddenly as a fever or other illness.

Was greatly amused by the description of the cause of death on this death certificate (Scotland, 1864).

Was he bouncing around in his prime 11 days ago?

Well, if everything else fits it probably is her. Ann Macdonald or Salmond wouldn't be the first person to get her grandparents' names wrong.

Are there any other records of a Ramsay/Yule couple? Could they be Anne Macdonald or Salmond's great-grandparents?

have you eliminated this one? If the informant got the mother's maiden name wrong, it could be her. Age is consistent with the 1871 census.

Yes, often.

It was part of a campaign to eradicate smallpox. Vaccination became mandatory in about 1850.
