I can't find it marked on the old maps at all, but it was on the seafront, looking out over the Solent, on what is now known as Springvale Road, between the Battery Hotel at the western end near Puckpool Park, and what is now Oakhill Road at the eastern end.  There are several reports of inquests being held at the Bath Tavern on bodies washed up and taken there.  Also reports of traditional games being held on the sands in front of the Bath Tavern.

Looking at the census enumerator's walk for 1861, it may have been near the Coast Guard Buildings which I suspect are the cottages with the flag pole in the front garden now.  Many of the buildings along that road look newer so the Bath Tavern itself may no longer exist.

Spring Vale lies within the parish of St Helens so this would make sense.  A nice place of residence.

Letitia & Maria Heath are listed on FamilySearch as baptised at St. Helen's on the Isle of Wight in 1844.

BUT 1851 census has both of them as born in Islington.  I'm curious and wonder if the film is one of those which covers multiple parishes in different different locations.

I can see the word Vale easily but without some more of the page for comparison purposes, it's tricky to work out what the other word might read.  :-\  I don't know of any area known as or a road with the name 'x' Vale in St Helens.

Edit: these are obviously adult baptisms since Letitia is in her twenties and Maria/Mary Ann is possibly a teenager - difficult to decipher under the stroke mark on the census.

That's wonderful.  So glad you found it.

I don't know if you have found it, but there is a photograph of Arthur in the Western Mail on 20 July 1915 when he received his commission.  He is in uniform and the article contains some biographical information.
