Thank you so much for giving me all of this information, so interesting, and so sad the story on poor Mary being interned.

Jan

The court case can be found using the namesearch link provided by Ashtone, search for Corpus and in document category select 'All'. In the first page of results there is a record for Mary and Kakio, the case concerned their marriage and what legislation applied due to her parentage. Sivero provides evidence about 6 pages in and a little later on.

There's a separate file relating to their internee status so you may see more than one record. It might be helpful to follow up with a search for Kakio (using forename and surname) as his documents also mention her family and various placenames in case any of those details help.

Thank you, yes Severo died in 1947, and correct he had 6 daughters, wondering what the Court case was about in the 1930's.

Regarding Philip's address there are two seperate documents that refer to Derby. One in the archives concerning Philip trying to get employment there post war and one relating to Mary, Philip's Aunt, which mentions Sibero living there aged 84.

Also in a court proceedings in the 1930s Sibero mentions having 6 daughters of which three are still living. Could he have stayed with one of them?

Thank you, yes that's correct, he married in 1946, looking into this now.

There's a 1946 marriage in Gascoyne, Western Australia for a Philip Corpus.
If it's the fellow you're asking about would the marriage record have any details for his parents?
(I'm not familiar with Australian BMD records, so unsure what parental details are recorded).

No definitely not through the Mother's line, have found Henry Goddard(Harry) a Pearler from Broome who came from Berkshire, he fathered two children, definitely confirmed, but looks like he fathered another child and that is where we are trying to work this all out

Oh yes, so much history on this family, the Pearlers etc.     I have a DNA match with one of the descendants, quite amazing trying to find the connection.    There has to be a male member who came from Berkshire in England to connect us up.   That's why I was looking for Father, rather than Grandfather.

Thank you anyway, I couldn't open that website.  So it looks like Grandfather and Aunt his next of kin. Jan
