Would someone be able to check Electoral Rolls and/or Post Office/Wises Directories (1901 onwards) for the following address:

I have just received a death certificate for a Scot who died in NZ, BUT it says he married in Sandhurst Victoria.

Would someone be able to check for a marriage for this man please?

Father: John GRAHAM
Mother: Janet MUIR
m. c.1864 C. DAVOY (DAVEY?)
Religion: Presbyterian

The informant was a son, so don’t know how good the info is….
Odd that he didn’t state his Mother’s first name….
Thankfully he knew his grandparents!!

There is an extracted birth on the IGI which is probably him which shows born 17 Jul 1827.
1841 Census age 13 (c.1828)
1851 Census age 21 (c.1830)
(both are when he is living with parents)
1861 Census – haven’t found the “right one” yet…so not 100% on his age.



Also, is it possible to search for Victorian births by using the parents names as it is for the NSW records?

Living issue is stated as born circa:
Males: 1864, 1867, 1870, 1872, 1873, 1879, 1879, 1884,
Females: 1865, 1874, 1875, 1880

According to the “How long in NZ” question the number of years equate to an arrival of 1863, so did he go Scot – NZ – Aust - NZ.
Or does this just represent the time since left Scotland and he infact travelled Scot – Aust – NZ?

Any help greatly appreciated.

If the births aren’t on a searchable database/CD, please don’t bother as it is too much to ask with a name like GRAHAM if they are only on fiche.
