There is a Harriot HORNER died in Yeovil 1847.
Sort of matches in with a previous post giving Harriot as birth mother of Grace PITT Yeovil 1844.
There is also a Baptism for Isabella HARRIOT HORNER 3rd July 1814 at St Andrews, Mells, Somerset. It also lists about 4/5 siblings at same place all on FreeReg.

Somerset / Re: Ruth Brown
« on: Tuesday 31 March 20 01:49 BST (UK)  »
Hi Newbabe,
There is also two births & Christenings for Ruth BROWN both registered at Shepton Mallet.
 1. Ruth BROWN born 6th March 1797 & Christened on the 3rd June 1797, parents John & Ann BROWN.
2. Ruth BROWN born 6th January (yr not given) christened 24th April 1810, parents Charles & Esther. Both of these events are at St Peter & Paul Shepton Mallet.
I have no idea how far Shepton Mallet & Bridgewater are from each other, would Bridgewater events be registered at Shepton Mallet ?

Cheers

Out of curiosity I had a look at the link.
You don't need to have an account, that link just shows the record, and there is another link on there to a record of their son Thomas's birth or christening.

Perthshire / Re: Thomas Moon married 1820

ColC
The Thomas MOON AND Elspeth COCHRANE you noted, Thomas was born 6th Dec 1801 at Longforgan and Elspeth 30th Jan 1803 at Fowlis Easter. They married 3rd MAY 1829 at Liff Benvie & Invergowrie and had 4 sons and 2 daughters.
Thomas died 21st July 1877 at Birkill Fens and Elspeth died 12th Dec 1884 at Doune Kilmadock.
Whether this is the family for the original question I have no idea, but it fills out the Thomas you mentioned

G'day Ashbas11,
 I have been told a family story about my original couple Agnes and Michael.  It says that this couple met. and were madly in love,  but when their families found out they forbid them to ever see each other again.This led to them eloping and getting on a ship bound for Australia. This sounds like it might be a case of the Orange and the Green to me as that was how bad they looked on this in the days of old and I suppose some still do. One latelythe documents I have says they were married on the 18th May 1859 I think it is, and they were married by father Francis Coffey. Agnes died 22nd Dec 1877 aged 37 years giving her a birth year of 1840 and the cause of death was a malignant disease of the stomach. She was either 18 or 19 when she married it all fits together very nicely. Agnes and Michael had 6 children A4 boys and two girls. They were;
Patrick B 1860-1952, William 1862-1897, John J 1864-1894, Margaret 1867-1957, James 1869-1917, Sarah 1872-1945.
I. have to look into her parents more now after there has been a lot more records released lately.
if I find anything I will post it here  Cheers Geoff

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Re: Occupation ??
« on: Saturday 07 December 19 11:33 GMT (UK)  »
To All,
Thank you for your input.
I thought myself it was inmate, but then i would think how could he be an inmate.
I think you may have got it right Stan, He is a son in law of the farmer.
He married the farmers daughter and is living there working on the farm.
It is the 1841 census and the way you said about a person living with a family is sometimes called an Inmate, I think that is exactly what I have here. I have not heard of that description before so I've learnt something new today.
Thank You one and all, Merry Christmas to all :)
