That was my top guess, but I just wanted to see what someone else thought. Going to NLI tomorrow, who only have from 1871 but it's a start for the moment.

Thanks  :)

Dublin / Educated guess for Parish?
« on: Wednesday 11 August 10 01:32 BST (UK)  »
I have a family on the 1901 and 1911 census living at Pembroke Place and Pembroke Road respectively. Any one have any idea what their nearest RC parish would be?

Ohh yes, was Richard known as 'Jemp'? That's the name my grandmother said to me

Hi Debbie,

great to find another family member!

Mary Duggan was my GREAT grandfather's sister. Unfortunately my grandfather (John/Jack Duggan) is now deceased but I remember my grandmother (his wife) talking about Aunt 'Babe' before.

Since the first message, I have found the birth cert naming Mary Hyland. Will post more this evening!

This isn't them is it? Looks like he's with his second wife here too if it's him.

Tipperary / Sean Treacy Video
« on: Thursday 13 May 10 21:50 BST (UK)  »
Last year I was looking up some information about Sean Treacy (of the War of Independence) and I came upon a video on youtube, newsreel footage shot moments after Sean was shot on Talbot Street in Dublin. Apparently it's been deleted from youtube :( Link is at the bottom of Wiki Page - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Se%C3%A1n_Treacy_(Irish_Republican)

Anyone know of it, or where I could get it?

Thanks,
Ali

Any rough idea of a time frame? The books start from the early 1850's and go right up to present day. I haven't had to look up anything outside the city yet but I'll see what's in it.
