I am trying to find out more about the family of James Dobbins, born Bannockburn in 1920. I know that his father was also James and that his mother was Jane (nee Johnston). I believe that Jane died when her son, James, was quite young and that he and his elder brother were put into an orphanage.
Any information on James and his forebears would be much appreciated.

I wonder if anyone can help with baptism records for Anne Williams (born around 1852 in Ynysddu) and her father Henry Williams, a collier who may also have been born in Ynysddu?
Also, I believe Anne had an illegitimate daughte, Sarah Jane, born around 1870 and I would be most grateful for any information on her baptism as well.
I understand that Ynysddu now comes under Glamorganshire, but presume I am correct in posting this in Monmouthshire as this was correct at the time of these births.
