Can I ask how you know Ann's dob?
The only person of her name I can find was born 9 Aug 1807  in Kenmore - father John, mother Elizabeth Macdonald.
I tried all possible spelling variants of the surname.

18 June 1892 Robertson lane, widow of Peter Ferguson, farmer.
Her father was Peter Ferguson, crofter and her mother was Christina Fergsuon, MS Ferguson! (Jeez- major inbreeding! You got 6 toes, Fergie?  ;) ;D)
Cerebral apoplexy hemiplegia
Informant Daniel Ferguson, son in law, not present.
Don't say I'm not good to you.

World War One / Royal Engineers South Staffordshire Regiment 1917 - 1919

Hi
I found my grandfather's WW1 records online today and see he was transferred to the above in Sept 1917 to be sent overseas with the BEF - I can't make out whether it was 2nd or 3rd battalion.
He survived the war and was discharged after it ended.
Can anyone tell me anything about this regiment and which battles they fought? Were they at Passchendaele? Any info/tips/pointers would be greatly appreciated.

They are not" top" lawyers - they just pay a subscription to join the club and use the swanky library at Parliament House on the Royal Mile   ;)

There is a bit about them in the book "Mutiny" by John Prebble.
