Was talking to you an hour ago and thought I'd look you up. My Granddad William 1893-1962, son of Patrick c.1847-1915. He was a miner in Hemsworth and I wrote to Mineworkers Pension Scheme to see if they had his employment details, they said no but to try; British Coal Work Records, Iron House, Rumer Hill Industrial Estate, Rummer Hill Road, Cannock. Staffs. WS11 8EX

G/granddad Patrick Ryan arrived in Bradford from Ireland about 1878 with wife Mary b.1851 and at least 5 children; Stephen b1872, Mary b.1873, Margaret b.1874, John b.1876, Frances b.1878. 1881 census registered as "Rayan". 1891 census shows 3 more children but 26/12/1891 Patrick (Widower) Married my G/grandmother Mary Davis b.1868. Granddad (William) was born 1/4/1893 and was adopted from a Catholic orphanage. Patrick married again in 1898 (4th quarter) to Ann Clark Greata b.1855. Patrick (b.1847 but varies between different documents) died 12/5/1915. I can't find any death records for the 2 Mary's which is the priority in confirming that I have got the one and only Patrick but any information on anything mentioned or suggestions would be very welcome and greatfully accepted. P.S. I'm a Rootsweb virgin-have I done it right ?......................Alan Ryan .........................................got the search results back from the Catholic archives in Leeds  :) and not a single question answered :(,  I do have a few unproven facts  ???  and new leads  ;) to follow up, so I'm going complete this thread and hi-lite any individual points I still need help with on new posts. Thanks a lot everbody. Alan :-\

Where can i find olf photohraphs of streets from like 1832?
Photography only became available to the public in 1839 and wasn't exploited to any great extent for another decade and even then it was sparse.
