would anybody be kind enough to help me trace my GrandMother ?

Sarah Bates, nee Williams,  born in Brewood around 1855

in 1901 census, she appear to be married to John Bates, born in Rugeley ar. 1852
my father Adam, born 1900 and aunt Sarah 1892

not sure if it was a remarriage or not but can't find them (GM, GF) anywhere before 1901 !?!!

cheers,

Rob

I have no idea who are these Turner !?!!

"Both James and Ann can be found on the 1871 census."

because if Louisa is the stepdaughter of James than Ann (the mother)
would have Williams as her marriage name...

which would be of no relation with me !?!! unless she married
one of Sarah's brother (?.. Williams)

or am I confused ???

many thanks, Valda

definitely a start, maybe you can help..again !?!!
would be much oblige to you, here is my problem :

GrFather, John Bates
GrMother Sarah (nee Williams) Bates
father, Adam born 1900
aunt, Sarah born 1892

I can't find the marriage of those 2 mentioned above.
in 1901 they are on Peal street and it's my father Adam (from birth cert.)

so I think that starting from the other end, EX. her birth date
I can trace her up from then(or him GrFather) and see what happened !?!!

hope you can help again,

Best regards,

Rob

Sarah Williams, born in Brewood around 1855
could of been a widow around 1891

and remarried to a john Bates (GFather)

I have no trace of her birth date, 1st marriage date and to who and second marriage date, if any.

Staffordshire Lookup Requests / Re: 1890th, Bates or Williams lookup
« on: Wednesday 11 May 05 05:46 BST (UK)  »
Yes, yonderpeasant

late marriage !?!! either that or a re-marriage but I can't find my gMother,
as a child, anywhere.

..and if John had a previous marriage, who with ???

there seem to be more than one John Bates in Rugeley

like in 1901, I see them at 6 pearl street, Walsall but it says a John P. Bates
altough on the birth certificate of my father (Adam), the (P) is not there.

So you can see that from where I am, it's quite difficult to see who's who and from where!!

my goal is to find any relative in the UK from one part and to find my ancestor on the other part and it ain't a picnic.

So if you can help or any body else, God bless you !

Tricia did some tremendous work (other subject, 1901 census search same page) maybe you can have a glimpse at it but the first marriage part is very confusing! (with Isabella !?!!)

many thanks,

Rob
