Aberdeenshire / Christine Bruce x Aberdeenshire

Hi

Does anyone have information on a Christine (Chrissie) Bruce bc 1895, died 20 January 1961. She married Richard Urquhart b 1896 died 6 July 1965.

Chrissie & Richard lived in 2 Dingwall Street, Rosehearty from 1931 - 1961.

After Chrissie died Richard remarried my great aunt Annie Taylor Ritchie, (1913-2003) I am looking for information about Chrissie or Richard. Or anyone with knowledge of any of the above family Surnames.

Thank you for the census info, I had some of the details, but you gave me new information.

Marjory Cardno (nee Barclay) and George McIntosh wife, Catherine Forbes, were cousins,

Think that Catherine & George were the 1st to emigrate then followed by the Cardno's. Andrew & Marjory were lodgers I believe with her brother, Alexander Barclay.

Aberdeenshire Lookup Requests / Search of Peathill for Urquhart & Duthie

Hi

Is anyone able to check out Peathill Cemetery for the possible grave / headstone of a Jessie Sim Duthie bc 1920 - died before March 1962.

Jessie married a Richard Urquhart bc 1910 - may have died 1969.

The marriage banns for Jessie showed 5 Ark Lane, Sandhaven before 30 November 1947.

Richard remarried Annie Taylor Ritchie 26 March 1962, in Rosehearty, and then moved down to England.

Annie died 2003 is buried with her parents (Joseph Ritchie & his 2 wives Mary Ann Mitchell & Annie Watt) in Peathill.

I was born in Fraserburgh but now live in New Zealand.

Anyone that can check out / wander around Peathill their help is very much appreciated.

Inverness / George McIntosh x Culloden, Inverness

Hi

Has anyone out there heard of a George McIntosh bc 1881 near Culloden, he married a Catherine Forbes 1883-1967, in Culloden 1902, after which they emigrated to Hamilton, Ontario where they had 5 children.

It appears that George died in 1916, and Catherine remarried twice, 1st to a Charles Paul, and had a daughter Rubina, and 3rd to my Grand uncle Andrew Cardno 1879-1951.

Andrew born in Fraserburgh, emigrated to Hamilton, Ont in 1910 with his 1st wife Marjory McPherson Barclay from Banffshire.

Love to hear from anyone with knowledge of any of the above people.

I have a Marjory McPherson Barclay b 7 March 1877 in Elgin, Banffshire, she was the 4th of 9 children of Alexander Barclay 1844-1921 & Ann Forbes 1847-1916.

Havent been able to find out where the "McPherson" ties in, does anyone else have these names in their database.

Marjory married Andrew Cardno (b 1879 in Fraserburgh) 1907 and they emigrated to Hamilton, Ontario, Canada in 1910 and spent the rest of their lives in that country.

Banffshire / Catherine Forbes / McIntosh / Paul / Cardno

Has anyone out there got Catherine Forbes born bc 1883 in Banffshire, in their tree. She died in 1967 in Hamilton, Canada.

She was the 2nd wife of Andrew Cardno, born 1879 in Fraserburgh, they married after his 1st wife, Marjory McPherson Barclay died in August 1928, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

She had previouly been married to George McIntosh, they had 5 children, he died in 1916,in Hamilton, Ontario. Catherine or Kate, married a Charles Paul, and had a daughter, Rubina. Not sure when he died, but Kate married for the 3rd time my grand uncle, Andrew Cardno x Fraserburgh.

A long shot that some one may recognise the names.

I have a Marjory McPherson Barclay, born 8/3/1877 in Elgin, Banffshire, her parents Alexander Barclay & Ann Forbes.

Marjory married an Andrew Cardno from Fraserburgh, in January 1907. They had one children Herbert b 1909, then emigrated to Hamilton Ontario in Canada 1910. Had 3 other children born in Canada.

Unsure where the "McPherson" fits in, does any of the above names tie in with anyone looking in McPherson's from Banffshire.

Good to hear from you, my info on the Badenoch's are from other sources, only looking into it because of Isabella Badenoch who married into my "Cardno's".

I have James marrying Mary Sutherland on same date as you gave, they have 13 children together, with Mary dying 3 March 1903 in Portsoy. I found her in 1881 & 1901 (Cullen Street) census along with many of the younger children, including "my Isabella".

I have James parents as George Badenoch 1798-1887 & Elizabeth "Unknown" 1802-1872, being married 21 June 1823, and 12 children, and I have also George , James, John, William as per your list.

George above I have for his parents: George Badenoch & Anne Geddes both born in Port Gordon, around 1770 .

Raises a few more questions than answers, wonder if they are two families around the same time with same or very similar names, and we have them mixed up somewhat.

I cannot say for sure how reliable my source was.

Thanks for all theat information, you are brilliant. I dont have access to any of the cenus, except the freebies.

It all seems to tie into place. Gilbert & Betsie had 3 children, Gilbert Jnr, who went to Detroit USA, Mary to NZ, and another female still living in Scotland. I have written to her asking if she can give me any more details of her family, waiting for a reply.
