Caernarvonshire / Re: Photographs Llandudno Pier Engine Room

You have me intruiged now.

You might find it in the book "Piers of Wales" by Martin Easdown (Link to Abebooks )

It would appear that the electricity room was a generator from Edison-Swan United Electric Lighting Company installed in 1889. That generator was replaced two years after your tree member took their own life. I wonder if the suicide had in some way damaged the generator?

So searching for it led me possibly to 18 electrical articles archived by a Polish University, which had the word Llandudno in them:

The Common Room / Re: Records Royal Hong Kong Police and Coldstream Guards

Stirrick,

I do apologize. We received a Report to Moderator suggesting merging the two similar threads, so I did. I've received another to unsplit them again. Unfortunatley it's not possible for me to know which replies related to each post. So for the time being I've altered the title to "Records Royal Hong Kong Police and Coldstream Guards".

Sorry again,

The Stay Safe Board / Finger length could determine risk of Covid hospitalisation
« on: Wednesday 06 April 22 11:07 BST (UK)  »
An interesting article on the prognosis of individuals who catch Covid, based on finger length.

You have to hand it to them - to find a link. They must have thumbed through a lot of data.

Here is the article:
https://www.medscape.co.uk/viewarticle/finger-lengths-and-risk-covid-19-hospitalisation-2022a1000t6g

Essentially, the short version is that they looked at the ratio between the lengths of the fingers. The ratios give an indication of testosterone or oestrogen that was present as the body developed.

They appear to have found a link that is supported by the data. Looking at the ratio of the length of the index finger to the ring finger. The length of the little finger, and differences between the two hands.

Naturally there will be variations for individuals that will have a large bearing on outcome - so don't frighten yourself if you stare at your hands and start worrying.
