HELLO KT.

I can not answer your question directly, but I can advise that the Waikato District Council sextants office is baced at their WDC Huntly office, and if you have not been in touch with them directly, I suggest you do so.

Just phone the council office, and they will direct your call to the sextant's office.

I have found them very helpful in the past,

Alan.

Mary stayed with a sister in Auckland for a couple of weeks after hubby went off. But I don't have any names. :) D

"Robina WHEATCROFT,  sister of the bride.  Auckland."  signed as a witness of the wedding.

Just caught up with your reply.

As no PM my end yet, I will attach a hastely prepared graphic, that should help a person to navigate a new to them site.  Before I go back up the farm.

Welcome to RootsChat Garth.

As you will have seen in the previous posts, I am now in the position where I can share with Deelin, AND YOU, if interested, the 40 odd photos that I took last Friday, of the FOOTE divorce papers held in the Auckland branch of Archives NZ.

I prepared them for forwarding this afternoon, so they are now available as soon as I receive a private message with instructions. [A free paying it forward service to members, in acknowledgement of the help others have provoded to me.]

Make two more posts as advised by SPAGES our moderator, then link into the private MY MESSAGE service, via the invite in the big bar at the top of the page, or you can also go directly to me via the small icon under my username at the left of the post in most dislay setups.

Regards,

Alan.

Hi Deelin

RE - QUOTE:

In the event you might want to purchase a copy of the 1906 marriage record, I'd suggest that you obtain the 1914 Divorce File (now that the 100 year embargo is lifted. )
Usually a copy of the marriage record is annexed to the Divorce papers - so you would get a "2 for the price of one" deal.  ;D

[Do check with Archives NZ first, to ensure copy of marriage record is on this file].

Can confirm, a certified copy was included.

New Zealand Completed Requests / EAST / TILLYER 300 year old parchment
« on: Sunday 31 March 24 21:22 BST (UK)  »
Hello

Today I have decided to give this article some airing in the UK, for RootsChat members who are interested in doing some reseasrch.

So that we do not have two concurrent threads, could you please post to this thread below.

https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=881571.msg7541765#msg7541765

Should discussion turn the subject matter back towards NZ, we can ask SPADES to relocate.

Alan.

Hello from New Zealand.

Today the STUFF group of mastheads, is giving coverage to a lady who's family is in possession of an 18th century tenancy agreement, on parchment.

It was found down the back of an old couch by her late father, when she was only a child.

Today she feels that it should probably be returned to the UK for safe keeping, by descendants, but who and where.

Thinking someone on RootsChat might like to follow this story up, I will post a link to the article.

https://www.stuff.co.nz/nz-news/350226847/300-year-old-document-found-down-back-couch

The publisher can be reached via; newstips  at  stuff.co.nz

By private message I can probably give a direct link to the named author of of the article. STUFF publishes a number of regional newspapers throughout New Zealand.

Alan.
