Looking for information on a Daniel Coates who leased a property in the parish of Clonmore, in the Townland of Kilgibbon, in the Barony of Shelmaliere West. He is listed as head of household age 56, farmer/not married  on the 1901 Census. His sister Elizabeth Coates age 50 is living there also. Any information would be appreciated. Also listed as living here were Edward Cahill (67) servant), Thomas Brown (32) servant) and Ann Toole (40)servant.

Cork / Re: Crosses Green and St Nicholas Church in Cork City

Hello again Carrignafoy of Cork
Thank you for clearing up that info about the parishes, it makes more sense now, however, what religion my Coates relative was is unsure as there is a bit of a mystery surrounding my grandmother's parentage. Her mother died when she was born and she was brought up by another family who were RC. The Coates' could have been Church of Ireland but hopefully a search of both Cof I and RC  church records will find them. Is Coates a common name in Cork? I will contact the people you suggested and see what I can find out. Thank you again.

Thanks Christopher for the suggestion - I may just approach the Delaneys in business  in Wexford but at present there are a couple of very kind Rootschatters investigating the Delaneys for me so I will hold off on that for now and see what they can find out for me. Thank you again.

Hi Carrignafoy, Cork

thanks for the great photo but I have a question - where would the Baptism and Marriage records for St Nicholas Church be today and is the Catholic Church still there today and would those Baptism and Marriage records be accessable. I am looking for Daniel Coates and his family who lived in Crosses Green in 1845 I don't know his wife's name but he had a son Daniel and a daughter Elizabeth don't know if there were other children.
My listing on the Griffiths Valuations for 1848-1864 Coates Daniel Townland of Crosses Green Civil Parish of St Nicholas, so how would I know which Church records to check? Any help appreciated.
