I really could do with a little bit of help to find out abour my gr grandfather John William Harbron Gallagher born 27/12/1897 in Tynemouth, Northumberland, died 1961 Tynemouth. My grandmother did not know a lot about her father as she was brought up by her grandparents.
I have a copy of his marriage certificate in 1916 when he married Elizabeth Ann Mason both aged 19 years, and his occupation is listed as a Soldier with no rank or number.
I have spend hours searching and just cant find anything. i do know that he father Joseph E Gallagher was killed during the second world war in London and his mother was Emma Jane Harbron.
How can I find out his rank or army number or regiment?
