I am having difficulties with a new branch of the family. Previously I was working on my mothers side, and I have taken that much further than I thought it would have ever gone. However now I have information about my fathers side that I never thought I would have had, and researching his side is proving to be far more difficult. I have not been able to find any records from where I usually go. I am hoping someone may be able to help point me in the right direction here.
Awel Lupschor, he is my Great Grandfather. He was born in Deutsch Etschka, now Serbia, then I believe Yugoslavia, on April 21 1925. We got this information from a "Work Visa" (I don't know what it may be) that he had while in Germany during World War 2, it had his information and work History while in Germany. In February 1945 he was arrested by the Gestapo (Secret Police) and thrown in the Ahlem Concentration camp in Hannover Germany. He was later killed and buried in a mass grave in April, which apparently got exumed and buried proper by the Brits. That part is interesting, because I have read that the Nazis abandoned that camp on April 6th 1945, so was he that close to rescue?
The only other facts that we know: Mother is Anna, siblings are Peter and Maria. No dates to go with them.
If the documents are in German or Serbian I have people I know that can translate.
So where should I look? Thanks for the help.
