Much appreciated Heywood,

Let’s see what I find when I receive the latest batch of Certificates, as you say go by what I know and I will find out from the certs, I may have to order other certs if I have not got the correct ones.

Yes the name Joseph pops up but I do know people may need t use the name they are born with or drop their first name and go by their middle names. Also the misspelling of surnames such as TEENEY which I may have ignored only because I was looking for Tierney.

I shall update you on what I find 👍

Heywood,

Thanks I forgot all about a previous request.  That’s what happens when you are your mums sole carer at the time and sadly she passed away so I now have time to pick up my family history research.

I should have checked.  But saying that I have today ordered my great grandfathers birth cert to check his fathers details because I have found the confusion and it is George’s fathers name is it Michael Joseph Tierney or just Joseph or Michael.

So I have ordered two certs a Joseph Tierney and a Michael Tierney.

Also my great grandfathers birth cert was recorded as George Teeney, misspelt and I have sent for his birth cert.

I know you may have felt it was a waste of time, but I can assure you it wasn’t it made me double check the information I have and to order the relevant certificates and check the details.

Hi Heywood,

I will go back and double check my family tree.

Sometimes it takes another set of eyes to check one’s work only because I have concentrated too much and may have been sidetracked.

I will go back to basics and start with my gran Margaret Peterson Nee Tierney and work back from her.

Thanks for your input, it’s much appreciated

Hi Heywood,

It has been bugging me regarding two I have two trees Peterson and Tierney on ancestry and they both connect to Mary Ann Bell.  Perhaps that is what you can see? under the Peterson Tree/Tierney I have the latin spelling of Mary Ann Bell and within the Tierney Tree I have spelt it the English way.

Getting back to Michael I found the information regarding his death on ancestry his birth and date of death match.  So perhaps it just a wishful link to him.

Hi Heywood,

It might be my tree on ancestry, let me check, I think I might have made an obvious mistake.

I am not off out soon and will double check in the morning.

heywood,
His birth place I have taken from his military documents and as mentioned there are so many spellings, Buronsole, Boirousoul  and Barasole county mayo.

His death is recorded on a Ireland Poor Law and Board of Guardian Records - South Dublin. Death date 6 May 1855.

He seems to have been married to Mary Ann Bell DOB 1783.  They had a son Michael DOB: 1808 Died 1862 ..

That’s all I have

I have been carrying out research on the Tierney side of the family and I am interested in the following chap.  I know it is a long shot and I may have got my facts mixed up?

Michael Tierney DOB: 1782 - Burransole (I know there are different spellings) Co Mayo.  Death 6 May 1855 Ireland.

He served with the Scottish Regiment 1st Battalion Regiment of Foot (Royal Scots).  His service dates are 1812 - 1825.
Any information would be of great help.  I know I have not provided much information, all the information I have has been obtained from military muster rolls.

Thank you
Keith

Lancashire / Re: Bisholf/Harvey family 1921 census - Liverpool

You obviously haven't looked at the original census image. There is no Ethel Bisholf. It's a transcription error.

The original image suggests that Edward's sister Dorothy, aged 9, was adopted and that her birth name was Rachel Bishop.

The tailoress was Edward's sister Nellie, 22.

Never trust a transcription.

I have learnt something, thank you
