Hi Km171, KGarrad,  jc26red,  Ray (CroxleyGreen),

I was asked to post this message last night, to see if anyone had any ideas. If the person could have done it herself, she tells me that she would have done so.

The Vista had been taken back to factory settings and was fine, until one of the updates was added. Then it simply froze again.  Hence the question.

Thank you all for your kind answers, I will of course pass them all on immediately.

Hi clever people

I have been asked to enquire whether other people running Vista have had problems after installing IE 9

I would be most grateful for any help with this.  A fellow Rootschatter’s machine has now gone down, now completely.

It was fine until this update was installed.

All answers gratefully answered!

Well as I said if he died without male heirs that would be that.

Cracked it!

Not my favourite reference site, but here is the info.

The chap mentioned here looks like being the same one. Dates etc OK

This might not be what you want, but I have found alot of information about the early family.

Very little later though, with this exception.http://www.rootschat.com/links/0k6q/

It seems to take you up as far as 1841 bit then stops!  I did put in later dates with no Joy

Oh well it is interesting anyway.
